Power Outages Sweep Industrial District

Several businesses in Junction City’s Industrial District lost power Tuesday night after what the electric company described as a “localized grid surge.” The outage, which began around 2:15 A.M., lasted less than ten minutes but affected nearly two dozen properties.

City officials insist there is no evidence of vandalism or sabotage, despite reports from security guards of “strange flickering lights” before the blackout. “It’s likely a transformer issue compounded by aging infrastructure,” said Public Works Director Alan Kerr.

However, residents on the east end reported hearing what sounded like “low humming or chanting” moments before the lights returned. Utility crews found no explanation for the noise and have since classified the incident as an anomaly.
