Father Andrew Malloy, longtime pastor of St. Luke’s Catholic Church, was found dead early Thursday morning behind the parish rectory. Preliminary reports suggest a fall, though police have not ruled out foul play.

Father Malloy was known for his tireless community outreach and was last seen locking up after the evening service. Parishioners gathered Thursday night to hold a candlelight vigil in his honor.

One witness claimed to have seen a “tall man in a dark coat” standing at the edge of the churchyard moments before the discovery. Police declined to comment on the claim.
